  The Yarra Yarra 2005

The 2005 Yarra Yarra, our LangtonÕs classified wine, is another outstanding example and, as always, the best barrels were selected for this wine. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 55% aged in the finest grain new French oak barriques. It is intense and balanced with brilliant red berry and violet aromas and flavours. Great intensity and length gives the wine remarkable power and richness. This wine will continue to ŅgrowÓ in the bottle.

  Reserve Merlot 2005

This is a niche wine, with only two barriques made. It has the seductiveness of beautiful Merlot with intense aromas of chocolate and mulberries and flavours. There are powerful fruit flavours on the palate, with excellent purity. Tannins are rich, rounded and supple, providing the fruit with powerful support. This is an outstanding Merlot with length and complexity.

  Cabernets 2005

The 2005 Cabernets is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot of which 33% was aged for two years in new fine grain French Oak, the balance in older barrels. It is highly perfumed, with violets and red fruits; more forward than the Yarra Yarra with a little less intensity. This wine should not be underestimated, as it is a serious and complex wine.

  Syrah Viognier 2006

Syrah Viognier 2006 with 5% Viognier is spicy and plummy with a balanced, elegant palate and moderate 13.5% alcohol. It is an excellent follow up to the highly acclaimed 2005 Syrah which was selected in The Top 20 Wines of the Year in the December 2007 Australian Financial Review magazine. It is called Syrah, because itÕs French and not Australian Shiraz! The Yarra Yarra site creates flavours like the Northern Rh™ne, home of the worldÕs greatest Syrah.

  Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2005

A unique style, not typically Australian or what you would expect of a Sauvignon Blanc Sˇmillon (65%/35%) blend. The 2005 Sauvignon Blanc Sˇmillon as usual, was naturally yeast fermented and aged in French oak barriques, of which 30% were new. It has flavours of citrus and pear with wonderful mouth feel and length plus fine natural acidity. The palate is tight with lovely balancing acidity and a long, complex finish. Will age gracefully and improve for some years.
